Hi guys,

Does anyone know when/if we will be getting this phone?

Alternatively, where can I get hold of one?

It looks awesome!!

WebOS FTW !!!

I am in Cape Town and I have a Palm Pre. Bought mine from www.cacell.co.za a Sandton based on-line cellphone retailer. Have bought many phones from Cacell and can vouch for their reliability and service. My Pre also has the qwertz layout, as it came from O2 in Germany. I think this is the only GSM version available at this stage. The qwertz layout is a minor problem. I got used to it very quickly. If you are interested you can check out my experiences with the Pre at my blog www.getsmartphone.net. I will post as I get to grips with the phone. The phone downloaded the 1.3.1 version of WebOS a few days ago. It was around 130MB in size and the phone downloaded it automatically in the background over 2 days, then installed the update by itself also. Pretty awesome.

Question:

That particular advert files it under 'Sim Free Phones'.
Does it mean it is the US version? i.e. Sprint-carrier?

Also, that is the qwertz keyboard.

Next question:

What bands does it run on? Quadband?

If it's QWERTZ it must be the same as Expansys UK, and it will be the German version.

They are Dualband WCDMA/HSDPA (900/2100) and Quadband GSM/GPRS/EGPRS (850/900/1800/1900).

Yeah, it's the QWERTZ version - looking for a qwerty one for myself... And for less than R6500!
