Made famous by dj's? Wtf is that about... technics was famous way before then

They were good systems back in the day, will be interesting to see how they compete with the today's brands.

Yes the Technics hifi range was also famous, but that statement is true. The Technics sl-1200 turntable not only was the biggest selling product for Technics, but also the world's biggest selling record player for many years. It is even feautured in the London museum of science and technology.

Last month i sold my two sl-1200 MK2's turntables in mint condition, bought in 1995, for R6000.00.

No, the statement is NOT true..

Technics audio products were famous WAY before the DJ's started using the sl-1200's.

Technics was the s**t. I'll never forget the hiding I got when I blew the speakers.

The name Technics was introduced as a brand name for premium loudspeakers marketed domestically by Matsu****a in 1965. The name came to widespread fame with the international sales of direct-drive turntables.
To each their own i suppose.

Yeah, they sold turntables, you do remember that at that time LPs were the primary method of listening to music for most people?

Would rather spend the money on a Sonos wireless system...makes more sense...

Highend doesnt sell today like it used to many years back, i mean who actually uses a cd player still?

I use itunes (ripped all my music and use itunes to download / buy music) and use symfi when i feel like something different

High end sells VERY well these days...

They're not buying CD's they're buying LPs and such..

Ripped music clearly puts you outside of the realm of an audiophile of any type.
