are they available locally and where could I look ?
I'm looking at getting an LCD, 40" max and Full HD would be the ticket. now I know everyone is going to go on about Sammy's, sony, lg etc and rather get a plasma bla bla bla....I have mountains of info and model reviews at hand and I'd like to have a look at some Panasonic sets, does anybody know where I could have a look? Audio vision etc?
I live in CPT
thanks

As far as I know the biggest LCD Panasonic make is a 37'' which I don't think comes to SA. They are primarily a plasma manufacturer so you only get plasma's in the big sizes.

I have a Panasonic Viera and I am totally happy with it. It has tons of inputs too!! (hdmi, vga, rca) :D I bought mine at Audio Vision in Canal Walk.

I bought it 2 weeks ago. I am pretty sure I saw quite a few unopened boxes in the store. You should ask them about it.

Hi,

Appearently, the Panasonic plasmas at Audio Vision were imported by Audio Vision directly from Japan (they bought a container). Panasonic SA isn't up an running yet, thats why other dealers don't stock Panasoinc at the moment. So your guarantee will be from Audio Vision, not Panasonic SA AFAIK.

I think the 42" HD Ready sets go for R10k, the Full HD is a bit more... I think the models are 42C10 and 42S10.

Cheers
Greg

When are panasonic set prices gonna be comparable to Samsung and LG

I've been waiting for more than 6 months already for Panasonic SA to get their act together to undercut the prices that audio vision sells their sets. A 42" HD ready LG or Samsung is selling for around R8k whilst Panasonic is selling at R10k, thats a 2k difference!!

The Panasonic plasmas are better screens - they cost more. AFAIk they are more expensive than LG/Samsung in the UK as well. The problem I have is that Audio Vision only have a few fairly low end models - the UK have a much bigger variety.
