I trusted a large panel beater company to do some good repair work, but they made a complete mess. I had to nag and moan to get the work done properly. Which at the end of the day never really materialised.
I had a new bumper, bonnet, light cluster and respray. The respray was bad, did not match original colour. The bonnet was not fitted correctly back in line (skew and not flush with side quarters). Come on! They do this work everyday, yet they can't get it right.
A panel beater like DALS has certificates nailed on the wall showing they are approved manufacturer repairers. But is anyone really checking to make sure your car has been repaired correctly, and is as safe as it was before the accident? I didn't see my insurer or manufacturer coming to check the quality of the work. They couldn't give a toss. Clearly some panel beaters don't always have good knowledge of repairs on particularly brands of cars.
Having to use a panel beater is an awful experience. Infact I hate having to take my car anywhere for repair or service, there's no one I can trust.
If they fix one thing, they break another. I've been to service centres such as Shell, Honda, Citroen, Steve's auto, and DALS panel beaters. All of which have done something stupid or careless to my vehicle.
They're meant to be experts in the motor vehicle repair/service industry, it's laugable.
