parallels RC3 (build 3170) out now

I'm worried by the reports that Parallels opens the os x disk to malware because of the level of access it has to the system. Anyone know if this is a serious problem or not?
 
Surely it would have to be mac specific malware to have any effect in the osx environment? I dont think it would be any different to receiving a windows virus in mail.app.

EDIT - btw - do these guys ever release something not in beta? :confused:

The last stable build was 1970 iirc ... they have had more issues with versions 2 and 3, and can't seem to get the damn things out of beta. Oh well, will fire up the Mac quickly to download, and see what its all about
 
Oh good - its even buggier than the last version.
 
What do yo guys do with it - its running fine on my system but then I only got WinxpPro loaded and doing nothing 'weird'
 
lol - that might explain it then :) I'd like full usb support but that dog aint hunting so far.

So - anyone know how to convert a parallels install to a bootcamp one?
 
Admittedly, I haven't tried to get my USB devices fully working. Its picking up my external HDD fine, and thats the important thing for me now. Should still try to connect my phone via USB to Nokia Software Suite, but I haven't gotten round to it.

The new build seems to run ok with both XP and Vista
 
Is there any reason why you don't use the iSync with the Nokia or do you need to access the Nokia's file system. I had to edit iSync's script file to make it compatible with my E70 but its working fine after that - sync's fine and bTooth internet also works fine.

I do use iSync for my 6680, and it syncs perfectly. Only reason why I mentioned it is well, it is the only usb device I might want to connect to my VM
