There's supposed to be checks and balances in any system. What does capitalism have to do with it?

And how would changing from capitalism help? If the problem is lack of accountability, or regulators not enforcing the laws, how will the system not being capitalist help?

Interesting, I am reading Oscar Wildes essay "The Soul of Man under Socialism", . And in it he (a socialist) says the following:

It is immoral to use private property in order to alleviate the horrible evils that result from the institution of private property. It is both immoral and unfair.

Basically, if you are a socialist, then you would/should be against the idea of private property, but alot of socialists use private property to propagate the idea of socialism! Oscar Wilde noticed that alot of socialists did this.
