That's crazy - so the three Jamaicans superstars are all out or never featured in this Olympics.

- Thompson-Herah never entered due to injury.
- Fraser-Pryce is out of 100m semis due to injury
- Jackson pulled out of both 100m and 200m due to injury

Yeah something went wrong there, at least their men from the 100m seemed to be in good form.

The 200m women was pretty good, Thoman/Ofili/Asher-Smith from USA/Nigeria/GB in the top 3 spots, all under 22.3
A few others just went for the qualify as well and should be able to go a bit faster.
 
Talking of 200m, I was wondering if they'd ever beat Flo-Jo's record, but I see they're at least getting close:

Just checked the results of the heats yesterday, there where about 10 runners who ran sub 10.03 (Simbine's time) so unfortunately v slim chance indeed ... even qualifying for the finals.

Thomson, Lyles, Hughes, Blake...

If I was a betting man, and I hope I'm wrong, if Simbine makes the final he'll be 6th, maybe he'll just miss it in the semis.

Pure speculation, nothing to back it up with. Hope he gets gold 😃
 
The kayak cross (channel 210 on dstv) looks like a lot of fun. One of the coolest Olympic events and making its Olympic debut. Hope to see it again next time.

Missed it yesterday. Will watch the semis and finals tomorrow for sure.

Love all canoeing/kayaking but the kayak cross is now in my top 5 favourite sports in the Olympics.
