Olympics: Team GB medics save Uzbekistan boxing trainer's life

Boxing coach Tulkin Kilichev was celebrating his athlete's gold medal when he went into cardiac arrest.

Two members of Team GB's medical team have helped save the life of the Uzbekistan Olympic boxing team's head coach.

Tulkin Kilichev was celebrating a gold medal for Uzbek boxer Hasanboy Dusmatov in the warm-up area at Roland Garros in Paris on 8 August when he went into cardiac arrest.

Team GB physiotherapist Robbie Lillis, who was in the arena at the time, said there was "a cry for a doctor" prompting him and colleague Dr Harj Singh to rush over to perform CPR and use a defibrillator.

Mr Kilochev is understood to be in a stable condition in hospital.

The problem was, it blindsided the breaking community.

A furore erupted after what some saw as an underhanded plot by the World DanceSport Federation to join the Olympic program.

The WDSF initially wanted to get ballroom dancing in the Games, but knew it was seen as too dated to secure the audience Olympic officials were desperate to attain - GenZ.

So without any official global organisation to challenge them, the WDSF pivoted to breaking. And suddenly the sport was in the Olympics.

And this is why the competitors sucked and not on par with what you see at Red Bull events or videos of 8 year olds on Twitter.

I don't watch gymnastics at all, but why did it take them that long to come to this decision? Surely they knew the scoring rules and could have seen that the score was invalid on the day of the competition before the medal winners were announced?

Unless of course all the judges and officials were American lol.

Edit: oh and I see her family immediately plays the racism card...
 
Imagine spending all that money to get yourself into the Olympic Marathon and you are out within the first kilometer because of what is most likely a pre existing injury.

So if i understand correctly:

- she was scored to low
- the filed an inquiry to review which corrected the score but it was too late
- the Romanian got her medal back

So really, the judges ****ed up

EDIT: and then apparently the athlete who came fifth was incorrectly penalised and should've gone third.

So these two camps are "fighting" for a medal neither athlete deserves?

The judges really screwed up. What a mess :D

I think the only live sport I'm interested in today other than the marathon is the final track cycling session. Man, it's over for another 4 years :(

Closing ceremony is from 8:15pm I think.
