Parking Bays - Left or Right?

I just find that the turning angle is so much sharper in reverse than going in nose first. Well for my Bakkie anyway.

this is true, the turning axle of a car is better calibrated when reversing,

oh yeah when docking it makes no difference to me which side the bay is

The left visual field is processed by the right hemisphere of your brain, which is responsible for a greater number of visuo-spatial calculations than the left hemisphere (in most human brains). So I'd guess that there would be a bias for turning into a parking bay on the left.

But then this doesn't factor in where you're focusing your vision in the car or anything. Just thought I'd throw it out there!

Interesting point you make.

Also something to consider for a left turn preference is the simple fact that we drive on the left-hand side of the road. We naturally swerve to the left to "get out of trouble", so I would think that it might come more naturally to turn left into a parking bay, than to the right, which might "feel" a bit like it's going against the grain. Unless you actually make a conscious decision to find the best spot available to you, and not merely operating on habit/auto mode, then parking to the right probably won't seem like a "thing", as you are driving with your mind, not your body.../me wonders if that makes sense at all.
