Sometimes anti-social, always anti-fascist.
Does anyone know of any tricks to any tips for improving?

At the risk of opening myself up to a huge amount of ridicule: I have never been very good at it and every time that I park in a tight spot I still feel at some stage that I am about to graze the other cars.

The best tip that I have is: some places are large enough for your car but no large enough to get into - learn to spot these!

For normal parking, take the turn wide - i.e. turn later, and sharper, so that you enter the bay straight.

For parallel parking... always reverse in... and aim your passenger side mirror down, so that you can see your rear wheel with respect to the pavement. Having electric side mirrors helps, but most cars have them now.

practise, with cones. Some good advice above, but words are difficult to translate into the real world. Practise practise practise.

Also a simple technique is to do the following. Stand parallel to the car in front. then reverse in until you front passenger door is parallel to the end of the car in front, then start correcting your steering, still reversing, then turn in when you have cleared the front car... try it with two cones or dustbins... it work...

For normal parking use wide angles yes like greg said.

Paralel parking is always a bit skimish....so here's what i do, when theres a windowon the side that I'm parking into...use that window to see who far you are from the car or the curb helps alot and I do it quick so onlookers are impressed.

First put the ass in and then the front at full lock. Do it slow - as the ass is in start counter steering as the car moves backwards and then slat a full lock.

tight parkings...is a no no, you just lookin for someone to ding your door...an old lady WILL do it.
Always use your mirrors, set them so that they barely see the side of the car, most people have their mirrors seeing the side of their car, no wonder they always wander into your lane lol...see about 95% of the road or blind and just 5% of your side of the car...know your car's lenght...this is a good test as to how far forward you can go and same applies to far backwards you can go...

practice..but erm, didnt you do your license? If you passed it should be easy!

Just stop your car closest to wherever you need to be. The method is not important at all. If it becomes a "problem" it is only because someone else has decided to make a "problem" for themselves. Don't worry about it. It's their stuff, not yours.

You can use techniques but nothing beats practice. I've gotten especially good at all types of parking mostly because of years of parking @ Tuks. The parking there is something you won't likely see anywhere else. After that entire experience (I park on campus now which is a bit better) every time I'm in town or some parking area the spaces you have to fit into seem so large and simple to get into.

Works all the time. Watch YouTube videos on this as well and you will get in first time.
