If your dog wants to join the force, is it possible for him to only be there part-time? I know the dogs usually have a strong bond with their policeman and probably even live with him etc. but does anyone know if they accept part time K9s?

It's just something that he's always wanted to do. He can't do it full-time though since he's currently trying to break into TV and feels this will help him. He has posters of RinTinTin all over his room. I contacted the SAPS a while ago but haven't gotten a response yet. The police station keep forwarding me to someone else every time.

There is no number that you need to call. Basically you need to prove his worth in the field, around all of the other dogs, to show them up. What you'll need to do is put an elaborate plan into place whereby you and your hound "accidentally" land up catching a thief in the act. You might need to play the part of the thief. But if this is his dream then who are you to stand between him and the force?
