I want to learn Python in a classroom environment. I have tried many times to self study python but never stick at it long enough to get anywhere. Having classes would change that. Are there any part time private institutions that has courses in the evenings?

You got me. I came in here expecting to see a snake handler training class.

Torque IT does.

Although even classroom led I'm still not sure I would get any further.

What stopped you from finishing the self study? And what sort of apps are you looking to write in Python - just script based stuff or something with a GUI (using something like PyQT)

Classroom training can hardly be consider a miracle solution; as with everything it's the time and effort you personally invest that going to determine if it's going to be a success or not. Becoming a competent programmer takes far more than a few days in a classroom, similarly how effective you'll be as a programmer will largely be determined by how much time and effort you invest in this.

Point is that if you struggled to commit sufficient time to learning python privately, a few classroom sessions aren't going to make any difference to the outcome.

Have you tried Udemy?
The Risk is R120 per course (on special)

+Exactly what Driod said ^^^

All these dev courses, bootcamps, etc are pretty much scams in my honest opinion. Google is free.
Don't spend hours reading books and stuff either. It's boring as hell and you'll wanna quit coding.

Think of a little project that you're keen to start. Then start googling every single thing till you finally built it. It's the best way to learn. I learnt (and I'm still learning) to code by building my own personal site (https://ronaldlangeveld.com/) with Python/Flask and my latest project SAOnline (https://southafricans.online/) with Python/Django by googling my way forward. Stackoverflow, documentation, etc.
It will boost your problem solving skills as well.

Give me a shout if you wanna know anything.
