Hi,

I've got an Acer with a neat feature (I'm pretty sure all branded PC's have had it for years, but I tend to build my own ...) which has a partition for the Windows install.

You click 'reset to factory defaults' and bang - the PC installs itself as if it was new. Otherwise you can press F10 during booting and do it that way.

Is it possible to create a partion on a 'built up' machine and have the same thing? With SP3 and MS Office 2003 installed already?

Yes I think there are many possibilities i.e.
Make two partitions and ghost the one to the other after loading all your apps.

The only problem with those Acer computers... don't know if they still do this... but those partitions are probably FAT32. Right click on your drive in Windows Explorer and check. All the ones I have worked on are partitioned to FAT32. Not a very efficient File System.
