Hey guys,
Ive got one external usb powered hard drive.
I was wondering if i can format the drive so that it has 2 partitions...
One partition being fat32 and the other partition being ntfs? Is this.possible?
If it is pls let me know how and if there is any free software to do this?
Im running windows 7 ultimate 64.

Thanks

Yes, it is possible to partition it like that - even with Windows' utilities.

Just type in 'partition' in the Start menu's search box ;)

Thanks pada :)

The easiest would be in Windows 'Computer management' under the 'Disk management' option.

Right-click 'My Computer' and click 'Manage'. In the 'Computer management' window that comes up, select the 'Disk management' option in the left window. You'll be able to see all your drives and partition to your heart's delight.

You could also install the many free-ware windows partition software available. Examples include Gparted, minitool partition wizard-particularly like this one!,Easeus Partition Master Home Edition ...the list is endless. Al the best.

Acronis Disk Director will also sort this quickly - not free, but one of the best out there IMO.
