Pass Through on an ADSL router

Hi All,

I have an SMC ADSL router, that does not allow PPPoE with pass through, but I have heard that there is a string or script to run that will allow sort of allow a virtual pass through on the router, but I cannot seem to find any details for it. Does anyone know of such a thing...?

I am basically trying to enable pass through & leave one notebook running a local account that is running all the time, & on my other notebook, use a PPPoE connection with my International account.

Any ideas on how I can make this work,
The router I have is an SMC7904WBRA-N

You should setup the SMC router in Bridged Mode, and then create a PPPoE connection from each PC with the different adsl usernames and passwords. See the SMC manual at http://www.smc.com/files/AH/MN_SMC7904WBRA-N.pdf see section about 1483 Bridging.

Thanks for the reply, I actually thought about that, but then all security on the router would not be present, I would have to make sure that all PC's have the necessary protection (firewall, AV etc) which I suppose is an option, but going to use this as my last option for now,
