Passenger train options

Nope, your target market is shrinking by the day. The population pyramid has flattened drastically over the last 30 years.

There are 2 other factors to consider when looking at this.

Availability and time

Your target market wants access to this service on a regular schedule, and that means more buses or trains along the same route. You obviously also have to make the trip more comfortable or beneficial than them driving themselves.

And time. This would actually be your biggest challenge. You would have to both insure a regular schedule and make it reasonably fast.

All of this, while keeping costs down and ticket prices marginally reasonable.

What is your plan with all of this information?
So how is rovos rail and blue train still existing? I've seen rovos is a bit more expensive. Does the blue train make a profit?

And then what about the coaches at the stations? The ones that u can see have been forgotten by time. What's their future

Commuter rail that is actually useful is not meant for us.

I do not think the whole country in general is not ready for commuter rail except for places like Western Cape where the government can actually support rail operations rather than just leave it to the consumer and prasa. The gautrain is another type of project which is dependent on the economy growing by I Suspects minimum of 5% to produce enough middle class people who can actually use it because that is its target market. but then also since is designed to pull people away from their cars they are going to need reliable transport to and from the stations. If the Maxi taxis can be put under control to stop intimidating uber drivers the train will also get more users on board

This is my view only, but even if trains were running every day, it's still useless to me unless they expand the rail network.

Not a chance in hell I'll leave my car parked at Bellville Station (or anywhere for that matter). Besides that, it's 20 minutes drive away from me... on a Sunday afternoon when there is no traffic.

City of Cape Town is obsessed with "stimulating the use of public transport", which is mostly non existent of you live in the Northern Suburbs.

Even simple things like a team line from the R302 to Bottelary Road with stops in between and and an interchange at Brackenfell Station would be a massive help but it seems the ever expanding road network only produces more traffic jams and no future rollout of public transport is catered for.

I guess one can dream.

No need to expand. Perhaps better transport links to the train station instead like myciti and uber

Sorry for l8 post. Let's talk about passenger trains locally
We only have blue train and rovos as the reliable ones but they expensive. Prasa shosholoza and Premier classe are very unreliable and dont always reach thier destinations

Why don't we have more rail options?
What would you need to be changed at prasa for you to use thier trains regularly?
If you decided to enter the market who would you target with your trains and why?
This is why:
