Passive 3D TV has won the race

Woohoo!

“Our engineers don’t really like [passive],” Negishi said, “because it has half the resolution of active shutter 3D, but consumers appreciate the convenience of passive.”

Why wouldn't it include LG? It uses passive 3D. There is absolutely no indication that they are talking about themselves and Panasonic only. Panasonic was clearly mentioned because of its similar trends. If passive 3D is of the same resolution as active 3D, then it seems Sony needs a chat with you. :D

As I said we have been thru this - and you're wrong, and you know it - they can Talk to LG or take them to court for lying.

With your "technical" "knowledge" and "ex-spert' ise" we know you will never be able to comprehend or understand the LG technology as there are something like personal bias clouding your neurons due to much plasma rays affecting their normal activity.

To enlighten you somewhat maybe watch this video clip in full if you dare

For someone that argues about blacks in Plasma v LCD LED backlight when there is such a small difference but ignore these major issues as shown in this video clip, makes it clear that either you know nothing about the 3D display technology or you are just being ignorant as usual.

I read somewhere about a dinosaur that exists "Ignoramus Plasmapotimus" :) Can someone point me in the general direction please.

History have shown that its not always the best standard that wins in the end.

On LCD/LED. Plasmas dont do FPR, so in reality LG & Panasonic still do active 3D.

Quite Right, but they (LG, Panasonic, Sony) do not do exclusively, such as in "only" active TV. They Do Active as well as Passive, except Samsung who does only active.

Agreed.
Active 3D is technologically superior, but passive 3D is more cost effective and convenient. At the end of the day it's back to economics 101 - supply and demand...

Yeah, my point was more that while there are still plasmas on the market, passive 3D cant have really 'won' the race.

Passive FPR is making great strides due to its convenience/comfort advantage, but its still has a way to to go to 'win'. Last stats I saw indicated Samsung were still selling more 3D TVs in the US than LG, Sony & Panasonic combined.

You cannot go by American consumer standards, they are weird, they still buy more Xboxes than PS3's, so it's all about quantity above quality. :D

So Sony needs to have a chat with you lot. :D

So funny. Maybe you have better things to do, like seek Negeshi / Kazuo Hirai's email address?

Nah, not required, they already saw the light and thus are doing the right thing.

PS: I still value your advise and inputs, just do not agree with all your TV arguments and justifications.
