Just a thought:

Telkom are always at the Futurex (Computerfaire) Expo's and many others. Now I know that it has already passed in May, but if we can find out when and where Telkom's next expo is, why not have a passive protest at every expo until we are happy?

By passive I mean; each person wears a Hellkom/MyAdsl shirt and hands out pamphlets with facts of Telkom. No talking and no other action. Every entrance should be covered with at least one protestor.

awesome idea.
I also saw on CSI MIAMI - yes an addict :o - that you can organise protest pods by sms-ing where what time and so on and people just show up and pasively protest. We could start something like that.
Any body got any ideas on how we get this kind of thing, both ideas - going?

Let's go, I will go and stand inside their stand area wearing a hellkom shirt and handing out flyers.

okay - I'd suggest step one: prepare, proof-read, doublecheck a pamphlet. Either one or two sided. A5 pamphlets. Printed, setting out the problems, and showing the comparison costs to demonstrate why we are being ripped off (in relation to other countries).
It needs to be very clear, very simple for the public to 'get' immediately.
Not technical at all.
It also needs to have no content that would 'defuse' its message. No insults, strident tones, anything that might make it either legally actionable, or suggest that the pamphlet has been made by angry schoolkids.

You want grannies to be able to read, understand and agree with it, and businessmen, as well as the Media.

So Step One would be 'prepare the text'. You also want that text to be able to be used later at some other expo's or events - so the pamphlet shouldn't perhaps link to the Event they're being handed out at.

Step Two. Find out printing costs for x thousand of them, so they can be used over time..

Step Three: Discussion on forum for donations to cover cost.

Step Four: Either
a) Forumite volunteers to meet and handout pamphlets - or perhaps better:
b) cost of employing some pretty female students to do this. (Drinks companies routinely use this method to get people to pay attention when they otherwise wouldn't)
Repeat process outside every venue/exhibition/meeting that Telkom features at..

If we each print 200 or so on our own printers, we can initially cover our own costs

It's quite simple, all you do is - distribute a A4 size PDF (or something similar) with 2x the pamphlet in landscape to all protestors. They can print the A4 page, cut it in half and viola 2x A5 pamphlets. If you'd like to save on ink, make a simple back on white pamphlet and also set the printer in draft mode to print 50% black.
