Hi there. I use 1Password to store all of my passwords. I know only the main password, and the password to my cloud backup for the recovery keys.

If I die, how can I transfer access to my next of kin? I would like them to be able to cancel all subscriptions, delete my accounts, get access to cloud family photo backup, etc.

One option I've seen is to include the 1Password key in my will, but if I change the password then the key also changes. Also, I don't trust whoever has my will to 100% guaranteed keep it safe - what if it gets lost or stolen?

An idea I had is to set up a "time bomb" app for myself - every week I need to click somewhere that I am in fact still alive. I need to enter a password to show that it is me. If I don't, it will email my password manager details to my next of kin. Problem with this is I would need to store my credentials on some server which creates another point of failure for security. Also, what if my code breaks?

Does anyone have something cool set up for transferring your credentials upon death?

Thanks

Most of them allow you to nominate someone who can request access to your passwords with a time delay
So they request access, if you dont respond in X amount of time, they get access

1password had this as a feature request from the community

Similar option with Lastpass

Write the code on a piece of paper and store it in a safety deposit box with access granted to the next of kin when you peg?

They don't do think. @giggity - Best bet is to save the emergency kit, print it out and store it somewhere.

As suggested here

I might go da vinci code on this one. Leave my password in a cryptex and leave a cryptic riddle in my will.

Maybe I'll even put my MYBB password in there and tell wifey to do whatever she thinks is best with it.
