My dad's secretary is struggling to import her Pastel 09 backup data to a new PC. The program installed on the new PC fine. The backups which are sent to a USB are fine and import perfectly on the old machine, but when used on the new machine there is an error and they suggest corruption or lack of disk space etc.

Tried copying the zip to the HD. Same story.

Tried importing the demo backup zip that comes with the installation and that works fine.

Only difference I can see is that Windows 7 icon has a little lock on the zip that comes with the demo. But the actual backup zip files lose those restrictions (and the lock that goes with it) when copied to the USB stick. But that can't be the reason can it?

Is there maybe a way to manually import the data?

So if you copy the zip file to the HD... does it successully copy? If yes.... unzip the folder.... place that unzipped folder then in Pastel directory... in pastel.. file > open > add the folder/company....

Was solved. Apparently the issue was the old pc had a different version of the program to the new pc.
