Hi
Hope someone can help me. At work we use Pastel and is connected on a workgroup via hub. The pastel directory on the server is shared so that all the workstation can open the companies on their side.
No what happens is that the network "appears" to disconnect, i.e. we have 3 companies and switch between them, when I try to open another company the companies is not found. I know that only happens when you disconnect from the server. I have to remove and add the path to the directory again. That sucks as to do that a couple of times a day is really bad. It happens to all the workstations.
Thing is, I know I didn't disconnect from the server. Pastel support claims it's the network and they can't help. How does this 'fictitious disconnect" happen then? Is there a connection timeout build into XP somewhere?
If it happens to everybody is it a setting missing on the server?
PS: we have no IT handyman...
