Hi Guys & Dolls
I have only worked on Pastel Payroll, however what I have experienced is that most payroll jobs ask for VIp Patroll experience.
Can anyone explain to me what the difference is between the two.
From my research, i found out that fundamentally , there can't be any difference , as the tax tables would be the same, the various tax brackets are the same all. SARS regulations are the same. etc

I can only assume that the input screens are different.
I find Pastel Payroll very user friendly . Then again I have not worked on VIP

Your thoughts will be appreciated

I think its because VIP is big here because of Sage and from what I can see support is in short supply so jobs will be a plenty - there's alot of integration with a lot of there other products VIP HR etc.

Not sure on the difference haven't worked much with Pastel Payroll - VIP is also very user friendly in my opinion... not much to it at all.

Never worked on either day to day but they seem about the same - both with their own rather unique quirks.

e.g. VIP will cut of the last digit of totals in reports under specific conditions. (i.e. it'll tell you 100k instead of 1m)

Pastel will do weird stuff like telling you it saved the report in the user directory....then you get to work out where on the network this user directory is (depends on config) and what it decided to call the file (depends on report).

Still...could be 10x worse. Like when companies decide they need to roll their own finance software.
