Hello
The company i work for is looking to change from Pastel Partner to Quickbooks desktop
and i'd just like to find out if its possible to convert a pastel company to a quickbooks company or at least just transfer the stock items with there prices to quickbooks

There is no conversion tools or application in the wild.
You are regressing, you know?

You'll have to report the inventory, creditors, debtors, to a CSV.

Then map the fields manually to the QB import templates.

You'll probably going tot have to capture the opening balances manually too.
And loose all historic transactions done in Partner.
You'll have to keep Partner "alive" for 5years, unless you make hardcopies of all the transactions and have it certified.
But that is just KingIV and SARS rules.

We basically have all invoices if the 5 - 6 years printed out and in files so no worries there
its our list of 1000+ different stock items that worries me

and yea i assumed quickbooks isn't as prestigious as Pastel but this wasn't my choice to make

You should have the decision makers also notify your auditors of your plans to migrate to QuickBooks.
It's the decent thing to do.
