Pastor Mbhoro's e-tolls headache

CONTROVERSIAL pastor Paseka Mbhoro Motsoeneng owes a staggering R110000 in unpaide-tolls.

Motsoeneng has confirmed the hefty bill and said he had a growing fleet of vehicles which explained the huge bill.

"How did you know? But it's true, I owe a lot, over R100000," he said.

The popular pastor, who has his own show on Soweto TV, has a hectic travel schedule and takes his huge entourage of bodyguards, TV crew, intercessors and worship teams whenever he hits the road.

In addition to this huge e-tolls bill, it has also emerged that the founder of the Incredible Happenings Ministry paid more than R20000 in traffic fines two weeks ago.

He reportedly owns more than 35 cars, most of which are used in his day-to-day travelling across the country.

"I'm always on the road to assist those who are troubled and seek my help. I have fans and followers all over the country. Going out to meet them comes at great cost," he said.

Mbhoro often leads his huge entourage in a silver Chrysler followed by BMWs and Mercedes Benzs. His other vehicles are used by his staff to run the ministry in Katlehong, Ekurhuleni.

Asked if he planned to pay, he said: "These e-tolls are unfair because only Gauteng motorists are forced to pay. I believe I'm not the only one who is concerned about the cost of these e-tolls on ordinary residents."

He complained that the e-tolls could mean fewer visitors to Gauteng.

I don't see the issue with this.

No one pays their e-toll bills. So having a pastor singled out due to his 'vocation' is silly. Do I agree with his entourage and fleets? No. But it doesn't mean that he should be singled out.

Neither are Gauteng guys, but there is no real reason to get all logical here, we're talking about a religious person.

On another note. I'm not too familiar with all the legalities behind e-toll, but can certain individuals not apply to be exempt from paying or receive some form of discount or such?
