patch 2.4

260MB is a bit small aint it ?

Think it's a partial download again, does anyone know the full pacth size ?

Must be. They update on Wednesdays normally. When is the release date? Supposed to be anywho :p

Hmm...I hope us mages get something cool :D more pew pew power!

Mages

* Using low ranks of Fire Ward and Frost Ward spell will now be penalized the same way healing spells are penalized.
* Fire Ward: Using low ranks of this spell is now properly penalized like other healing spells are penalized.
* Frost Ward: Using low ranks of this spell will now be penalized the same way healing spells are penalized.
* Frostbite: When a frost spell is reflected back at a Mage, it is now possible for the Mage to suffer from the Frostibte effect.
* Ice Barrier: Using low ranks of this spell will now be penalized the same way healing spells are penalized.
* Permafrost: This talent will now correctly increase the movement slowing effect of frost Armor instead of the attack speed slow.
* Spellsteal will no longer overwrite a longer duration buff.
* The casting bar will now display properly when casting Blizzard or Rain of Fire with spell haste.

Pre-Download of 2.4 is a very cool sign.

PTR's are still up so I don't think we'll see it next week as they always drop the PTR a week before the patch goes live, but it does mean it's not too far off.

I highly doubt it... especially since Sunwell Plateau has been disabled on the PTR's, No1 has fought Kil'jaden, and Blizz are nerfing/buffing rep rewards everyday

On the brighter side, GM's are pwning the PTR :(

Imo... give it another month

If you'll recall no one fought Illidan either pre-2.2.

Blizzard normally reserves the final boss for internal testing prior to release.

True... I still reckon Blizz will give the public more time in Sunwell

Then again, without the AQ40 effort, blizz probably will release it as soon as the sunwell is re-enabled

anyone have a link for a local host for the patch...ie ftp etc

One of the things I'm looking forward to in 2.4 is that us locks will be able to summon guys straight into instances even if they're outside it. No more running to summon stone or outside to summon slow pokes or replacements.

Nice.

No more use of flying mounts.

EDIT

Patch 2.4 available from the background downloader
The first part of the patch 2.4 is now available from the background downloader on live servers. This could be a sign of imminent release, or just the same thing as everytime with Blizzard trying to make the upcoming patch day as pleasant as possible. Keep in mind that everytime Blizzard did this, we had to wait a few more weeks before the effective deployment of the patch on live servers.
