Patch 3.2.2

I can't do 25mans anymore! I keep getting dcéd! I enabled my account on Monday. Wednesday I joined the raid with my guild each time the onyxia encounter started dc, try to log back in dc immidiately, dc, dc. Sadness. Tried TOC 25 afterwards, dc in the begin of the fight but then I was able to log in afterwards.

I can do 10 mans TOC / VOA (could do 25 as well only dcéd twice) / etc with no dc's. I tried onyxia 10man dc when all the whelps come. Sadness, I don't know whats making me dc!

One of the reasons for DC's in 25 man instances is as a result of too much data for your connection. There are a couple of solutions:
(1) Increase your downlink mb/s (from 512kb/s -> 1mb/s etc)
(2) Disable your combat log entirely
(3) Disable all "chatty" addons
(4) Try running without VoIP eg: Vent, Skype

Good luck

I have a 4mb line, I have never dc'ed like this before! It is something new ( I was on a wow break for 6weeks when i came back I suddenly got these issues)

I will try to disable the combat log, I don't have any chatty addons.

If it still fails then I'll try without vent and see how it goes.

I have tried all of those things and still dc every time! the only time I have not dc'ed was when I selected myself and stay out of the battle until like 20s later.

I am in the same boat as you Freeek...

But in my cases its only in certain raid bosses. Heavy AOE which I am involved with, or on TOC first boss its a guaranteed DC for me.

Its definitely something that changed in the recent patches, since I have raided every single damn instance in this game from day 1, at their respective levels and NEVER had this problem.

Its the manner in which the client sync's its data to the server... its as if our pc's cant cope with the data and then the server drops us.

There is tons of threads about it online on both the EU + US forums.

I am upgrading my pc later this week, and I am gonna be dedicating two cores specifically to WoW and see just how much of a difference it makes.
Also WoW is very read IO intensive I have been reading up.

Biggest problem WoW and cpu's have now... is if you have a multicore system with hyperthreading support, the client is to stupid to use two physical cores. It grabs CPU1 (which in this case the OS also uses) + it grabs CPU2 two which may be a hyperthreaded virtual cpu. Important to note that WoW does not use more than 2 cpu's *wheter its core's or hyperthreaded virtual ones* People are reporting massive improvements going this route.

So I am gonna be forcing WoW to use separate dedicated cores for the game not in use by the OS. Will let you know if it works... A friend of mine is running same ISP, same line capacity, his pc is way stronger than mine, and he doesnt DC on the encounters I have problems. Will let you know if throwing hardware at the problem actually solved it. I have to upgrade in any case, so this might be the perfect time for it.

Its the same for me, first boss in TOC25, Onyxia 25 and Koralon (occasionally)

hmmm I read a few threads about pc's not able to handle it, I have an AMD TRI-Core and ATI 4850 1gb, at times of DC i have 30-40fps! It might be some setting that is causing this issue.

Have you modified your processAffinityMask CVAR for WoW to distribute workload to your other cores other than using the shared one your OS is most likely using? remember wow is grabbing the first two cpu cores / threads, and your OS always uses core 1 as well.

If you haven't done it.... your wow processes are competing for cpu time with your OS core.

Remember your FPS is not your actual reason of dc'ing. FPS is merely how much frames your vid card can push through. Your damage calculations, syncing of client data is all cpu power dependant. I am running on a GTX280 on minimum details... and I DC. Its definitely client data processing causing the DC's.

You have the same DC probs I am having by the look of it... frustrating as hell...

I normally have DC issues on patch day's and few days after. Then it seems to "smooth" out and i can raid again. Maybe it's more on the server side?

ps. Im running on Vodacom 3G 3.4mbps. Latency is between 250 and 700ms.
