Patch 4.2 Possibly as soon as 21 June

So Patch 4.2 is around the corner, a lot of speculation on the net about a 21 June release.

What will you be doing when 4.2 hit?
I guess I will do a massive grind for justice points on my alts to get them into epic gear. Same with honor points for epic pvp gear!
Our raid group will be in firelands soon after the release, but I doubt we will get much progress done...
 
Grind for Avengers of Hyjal rep to get the ilevel 391 ring, and use my alt DK character to farm JP's for my main raiding character... use the JP's from my main character to buy another item apart from the bracers my alt will be supplying to my main.
 
Another rep grind :( But guess I will have to do this one as well...
Luckily the AV weekend is beginning of July, so will use this to farm honor fast and convert to JP.
 
Naaah man... rep grind is not hard if you come from a vanilla background !
If you wanna talk about bad grinds.... timbermaw in vanilla.... eeeuughhhh was a nasty one.

I found the Darkmoon faire token grind worse... lived in Silithus for months...stupid scorpion blood

Yes I recall that stupid grind as well ;) and the Frostsaber grind :O
And some crazy guys in my guild did the whole buccaneer rep grind as well...
 
thought the buccaneers grind is harder now because the goblin guards are same level as you? as for me, same **** different day, hope like all hell my staff drops :(

How do you gear from JP vendors from an alt to your main? I thought all the gear you buy with points was BoP.

It seems in order start the new dailies you need to have completed the quests in Hyjal up to a certain point. I've done this on my main, but not the other 2 85's. Won't be grinding the rep on all of them, but iirc you need atleast friendly to be able to get new recipies for BS/Eng/LW.
 
Nope... read carefully the patch notes... also, are all existing VP epics BOP ? **cough boots**

I honestly did not know that, so thats why I asked to check if I was understanding you correctly. So then the VP boots currently are BoE and I assume the VP braces in the next patch will be BoE. You learn something new everyday I suppose. Thanks.

/off to buy tank boots for paladin alt :D

I have the frostsaber on 2 of my chars. (Granted the 2nd char did it much later when Azeroth flying was introduced.)
 
so its being said patch 4.2 is being released the 28th (US) and 29th (EU).

lol I did some math the other day, and worked out maybe 1% of wow players have cleared all heroic content. and yet all the qq for new raids.

not nearly enough random stuff to do that has nothing to do with anything end-game related. super-simian-in-a-ball anyone? that kind of thing. someone else mentioned they need more fun stuff like the plants vs zombies, or gnomebliteration. ie more in-game games.

and some love to melee would be nice

Another interesting thing, it seems there is a reputation faction that is gained from within Firelands where you get the rep items, but I couldn't tell whether one is able to grind it outside of the raid instance, so those of you thinking you gonna grind for your ilvl 391 rings, best of luck but I can't find hard evidence that you would be able to do that, it sounded more like gaining rep only from killing bosses, like Hydraxian Waterlords, except it will probably go faster than the silly water lords.
 
Daily quests and killing bosses in Firelands raid instance will give you rep for the "Avengers of Hyjal"... However, you will still be nailed with the max weekly Rep cap...

rep cap is only for guild rep. you are thinking of Valor points cap

By rep cap, I mean you can only do a daily once per day, and there is a few of those dailies... after that you have to wait for the reset the next day, and there are only so many days a week to stack rep points. I seriously doubt we will all be clearing firelands in a week or two.
As far as I know, you cant wear a tabard and run normal dungeons and hog yourself to exalted in a day. You HAVE to raid + do their dailies to get rep. They are going with a "ashen verdict" type of grind.

At least for the first month or two, dailies will be quickest way.

The way MMO explained it a few weeks back, or at least how I understood it :

You can do dailies to get rep + tokens, once you have enough tokens you unlock new dailies and vendors...
once all vendors are unlocked you have access to epic's... think of it as a mixture between "ashen verdict" + argent tournament dailies....

Edit - keep in mind this is not final till its on the production servers, so it might change... Everything they have posted, is from data mining the code + PTR experiences.

Goodie, somehow I am relieved that it will only be released in another week's time! Rather played Diablo2 the weekend than do any wow grind. Cataclysm is indeed killing my interest in wow...
Still need to cap my justice points on a few toons before the release of the patch.
