Hi all. Haven't played for quite a while but just getting ready for Wrath. Downloaded the latest 2 patches from ftp://ftp.agasa.co.za/patches/wow/ and what I have is the following:

Just those 2 items. What do I do with them? The 3.0.2 (500mb) won't patch unless the first is done and the first is simply a 1 gig file that does nothing. It doesn't have the correct program associated with it as when I click it it opens Warcraft 3... which is obviously wrong. When I change it to open with WoW all it does it launches WoW, and does nothing more...

My updates folder contains:

And that first folder contains:

As you can see, all those files have the same program assisotiation problem. I'm totally at a loss what to do and getting extremely frustrated. If someone could help me here that would be great.

It's my guess that there was a problem with your download. Do a test on your zip file to make sure it's not corrupt. All of the files should have data.

My files (EU version) have the following sizes:

Updater.exe - 1162kb
Installer Tome 3.mpq - 10521kb
Installer Tome.mpq - 33893kb
Installer Tome 2.mpq - 1016268kb

Nope, no problem. Looks like the doanload only includes that file for some reason...

Where can I get the others?

Those are for the entire thing. I'm NOT downloading that gig file again! FFS man, why can't the local site just host them all?

The problem is that you have no way of knowing if your zip file is even correct. All of the files should be there. 3 zero length ones would make me seriously doubt the integrity of the 4th.

I did run update.exe but it does nothing. It's not associated with the correct program and when I set it to WoW, it just opens WoW - nothing else. I downloaded the exact .rar from that local site (over a gig) and all it contains is installer tome 2.

Frustrated beyond belief here...

You should have updater.exe. It's an application and does not have to be associated with anything.

Dumb question. Did you have space when you extracted the first zip file (2.4.3->3.0.1). All of your files in that folder have a zero length which is definitely wrong. You can run them until you are blue in the face, you need to get the correct files extracted from the zip file. Perhaps also try another zip extractor like 7-zip (http://www.7-zip.org).

The file is called updater.exe, is 0kb and serves as nothing but a shortcut to WoW itself. Surely it shouldn't be 0kb?

So where can I download the 3 missing files? Everything needed for the first patch apart from installer tome 2.

When you do, would it be possible for you to locally upload those misisng files?
