hi all
woulld like to start playing bf2, but i would like to know if i must download only the latest patch or all of them

Thanks Thenarrow, i used to play 2142 back in the day and loved that, so its going to be good getting back into battlefield
 
But BF2142 died out.

I also played BF2142 before going to BF2 and the two are very similar and alot of fun.
 
2142 for me was a decent game but so many bugs compared to bf 2, most annoying is being disconnected the whole time and the ship being laggy as hell.

After that i could not bring myself to play it again.
 
Titan mode was epic, but had its issues. When 2142 started to die down i started playing cod, but cod is not nearly as tactical as battlefield games.
 
BF2142 was the first BF game I played, and was quite a bit of fun.

I'm still looking for a game where you can deploy stuff like you could in Tribes 2 though :( ET:QW had engies, which was fun for a bit, but not nearly as fun.
 
I get the "your version is older" even though I updated to 1.41
Wjat should I do to let the server see that the version is correct?:mad:
 
Maybe I am just missing something but where is the real issue.
1. Punkbuster for not updating correctly
2. The Patch not updating files correctly to show the version for the server
3. The Server itself not picking up correctly versoins.


I have re-installed my BF2 and BF2 SF to 1.41 that I downloaded from SAIX itself.

I downloaded the two files from Punkbuster and downloaded the Auto updater from the site and ran the updater. It downloaded a few files.

Then I copied the two files to the desired folders that was mentioned before in the fix for punkbuster.

If I logg in to the server I can see alot of new servers (so I assume that the version has been updated to 1.41 but still show on my side its 1.1.2)

Now if I want to connect to the local server it still complaints about my server that is lower than the server.

Could any of the gurus help here please.
 
So you installed 1.41 and updated punkbuster and you still have this problem.

The usual fix is
Uninstall and reinstall BF2.
> Install v1.41
> Download pbsvc.
> Use pbsvc to uninstall PB.
> Reboot PC.
> Use pbsvc to install PB.
> Reboot PC.
> Update PB.
> Play, hopefully it will work now.

Not yet I downloaded the automatic updater from PB and that updated a few HTM and zip files but still the minute I enter the IP address to connect to SAIX it complains about my version that is too low.

Could you please add the link where I can get the PB app that you mentioned.

You downloaded PBSetup from here
right?

Just use pbsvc to uninstall and then re-install PB.

Also re-patch it just to make sure. Is the patch you downloaded 1.41 (536 MB)?

If you still cant get it to work. Register and post on the SGS forums. There is a BF2 section post there and I am sure some one will be able to sort it out. A
