I purchased the LTE-A 100GB/100GB package a few months ago. Initially I got some quite decent download speeds, but it has been slowing down considerably.

Last week I was averaging about 7Mbps.

This week it's not even 1 Mbps.

Anyone else experiencing these types of issues?

This is everywhere.

My LTE is up to ****, and two of my colleagues who also took out 50 and 100 GB LTE contracts are also experiencing sub Mbps speeds, the official answer when phoning Telkom, and Telkom Business is, that "in the evenings, many people are using the service, and thus results in reduced throughput".

Fcking useless.

disadvantage of a wireless service.

I was really hoping that's not the case. After all we're shelling out R1K per month for this "service".

Is it possible to get out of the contract based on bad download speeds?

There should be a rule regarding speed throughput.
If you run normal LTE the least you should get is 50mbps on a 90mbps structure.'
The same can be said for LTE-A. ICASA should advice here.
(For example having a car that can do 200km/h but I only can get 80km/h) :D

There must be a set of local and international standards, that relates to this.

Eish... My ADSL is in process of cancellation and was kind of bargaining on this product. Might still give it a bash on a month to month basis....
