Pathetic service

I have been struggling for months now with Afrihost. It all started with Metrofibre doing some sort of upgrade on the line to support both PPPoE and dynamic IP.

My router would constantly reset and default to PPPoE. After weeks of back and forth, I asked for a new Router as even browsing the configuration pages of the router took 5 Min to load. I would log on each day to save the settings to Dynamic IP.

Strangely after I logged a ticket for a new router, the settings seem to have stayed put. I paid a delivery fee but still haven't received any router.

Next up. On Monday I have no internet. Apparently my Metrofibre connection was cancelled due to affordability but I had paid in full and have no money owed or outstanding.

The incompetence of afrihost support and Metrofibre is beyond belief. No one gets back to you. I have to play Middle man with Afrihost who give me a thousand excuses from technical issues to human error to Metrofire being the cause.


Metrofibre gives me one line answers saying that they are activating it, to is being fixed, to investigating in that order.

I then get a call for fibre line installation at my house.. the physical line itself.


There is no support, no proper answers and no resolution. It's been over 48 hours.

Oh by the way, I'm paying for 1Gbs Download, 500mb upload.. of I get 200mb I'm lucky

My advice is to stay clear of Afrihost. How the hell it won any award for best fibre host is suspect

That is definitely not any line speed issue, that issue is with either the device you are using or your home wifi connection

May I please have the ticket reference so I can follow up with MFN for the activation of the service.
