PAVING Quotes

Got 2 quotes from 2 of the Big Boys in Paving, Boss Paving & SA Paving for 70 squared metres of Corobrik paving.

I know that their pricing is high so I want to know what I should be paying before I am screwed. Also if anyone can beat these quotes then PM me. Based in JHB North.

Boss Paving - R239 per squared metre
SA Paving - R300 per squared metre

Both charge R120 per squared metre if I get the bricks. Could see that they really didn't want me to go this route.

Both also say it will take 2 Days to complete and the guarantee is basically 30 yrs & 25 yrs respectively.

Would appreciate the feedback gents...

I have no idea what bricks cost, but R120 per meter for labour seems a little steep. Its basically minimum wage for what you pay a general labourer for a full day's work. Is the R120 a flat rate or is it based on your site which they inspected? If there is a lot of technical issues like steps and compacting, you may need someone that know what they are doing.
I don't know how big area you are talking about, but if it was me, I would hire some unemployed builders from the side of the road and go DIY.

EDIT: Sorry, I see 70m area, in which case it would only be a small saving.

Speak to these guys they have much better rates,we used them a while back work was decent quality also no issues until now.

They are a small company but their work is really good and comparable to some of the bigger guys. They did my driveway a year ago.
