Hi - just moved to MTN t/day. I need to load data bundles on pre-paid - Are the prices the same for pre-paid as for normal contract bundles.

Tks

What do you pay on MTN 3G if you don't buy a bundle, like the out of bundle rate per MB?

How do you load the bundles on prepaid, do you buy vouchers or do it online and it goes off your airtime?

Does the bundle expire end of the month, or after a certain timeframe?

And last question, if you load a prepaid data bundle, does it extend your airtime window, if so for how long?

The following link will explain a lot.

Its at MTN data live GPRS

You can only buy one data bundle per month. Choose carefully. The rest of the month you run @ R 2/meg.

Alternativeley buy another prepaid card @ R6 and another data bundle on that for the next month.

Won't there be any way of bundling multiple bundles together? 10MB isn't a lot, and 100MB is too much... :(

In fact, I am sure it would cost MTN more to reconnect/register a new SIM card every time I use up my 10MB (will most likely use say 30MB a month), than just enabling me to buy another datacard...

Unfortunateley, MTN does not allow additional data purchase until the expiry date has been reached. The extracard cenario seems to be the way to go in the interim.

I don't know, with limited increments, no stacking, no carry-over (for that matter, loosing the data by the end of the month) just shows to me that MTN isn't really keen on selling data prepaid - they just want to be ahead of the competition.

There is nothing really grabbing my attention in this deal! I'll wait for VC's.

On GPRS its perhaps a solution to wait for VC but do they have EDGE? I am running a GPRS/Edge modem off my laptop. 3G is not an option as the coverage is even more limited than EDGE.

I will try my new EDGE modem tomorrow @ office with Voda. I hear rumours that Voda has EDGE???? The proof of the pudding is in the eating.

I hace connected with MTN EDGE on Friday in PTA North. Mind blowing to have that speed other than over my 512 ADSL at office. Any way, will try & c if Voda has EDGE. Then only will Voda prepaid be acceptable, if they launch as promised.
