Apologise if this is not the correct forum to post this ...

We have been using Google Adsense to generate revenue from our site (www.ndorfin.co.za) and have been having major issues with checks from Google getting payments returned. I heard there is a company that accepts the payments for you, and provides a card to withdraw the funds in SA.

Anyone know the company/similar companies that do this? Obviously must be legal etc.

We had to change advertisers recently as a result but not received as much revenue as Google Adsense..

Would appreciate the help...

This is very strange.

I received Google Adsense cheques almost every month for the last 5 years. Never had I encountered problems with even one of their cheques. The cheques we received are being issued from Citibank in Ireland.

I would strongly recommend that you first contact Google and ask the reason why the cheques are being returned. There must be some reason. This is the only way you will find out what is going on.

Secondly, I don't k now about a company that will receive Google cheques. It may be one of those dodgy companies that will charge you R300 to cash a R1000 cheque. Be careful of any company doing this!

Thanks for this - was just wondering what bank you are with? We're with FNB and it seems that the cheques are deposited, and then lost on their way back to the bank in the states or whereever they go. The charge is then reversed and we lose our money. It happens so often that we eventually gave up using Google Adsense and now take a 80% loss every month on our ad revenue...

Anyone else have this problem?

I am also with FNB. I take the cheques directly to our Branch in Cresta. We always wait the 7-10 period for the cheque to clear. No problems at all. We never had one cheque going missing.

I know from another forum that a person had not received a cheque and contacted Google. They cancelled the first cheque and the person received the new cheque in about 2 weeks.

The problem is that you cheques have been banked. So, again, maybe the best would be to contact Google and ask them about it. I dont think the cheques have gone missing, maybe they have been cancelled by Google at some time.

Yes, Google Adsense is by far the best paying program out there and you do not want to give up on them. I am sure you will suffer a loss of 80% of income.

Clear the problem up with them.

It's worth the R180 odd to have DHL courier the cheque to you. The cheques are valid for 90 days after it has been issued AFAIK and takes up to 5 weeks to get here if by normal post. Citibank has a local Johannesburg branch so it's a normal cheque in Rands which is processed in the normal ENC for your account EXCEPT for ABSA which has a 11 day clearing period on transmission accounts and 14 days on credit cards.

I use FNB, but I would avoid the Cresta branch since they **** up more than they actually work over there apparently. Last 4 cheques I had multiple issues with them not clearing the cheque due to some stupid mistake made by the teller. Had an account with a "trading as" in my name. 2 cheques went in fine, the next 4 I had to bitch and moan constantly after they said the cheque in my name should go into an account with my name (which it did) and they pretended the "t/a" is suddenly a ****ing business account. Then there's the FUN of having the teller I banked with piss around taking a WEEK to deposit the cheque (and only after I bitched about it since the money should reflect immediately, just not available till it's been cleared). Then they wanted to BS me saying now I have to wait for the normal ENC period to which I responded by going to the branch manager...and then the REGIONAL manager... cleared within a day because of their own ****up.

This was time and time again.... so rather do business with a foreign exchange OTHER than cresta FNB or ABSA (but you being in Cape Town shouldn't matter)

chitika boasts to be better than adsense in terms of income. I've seen guys do a lot better with them than google and they pay right into your paypal account, so it might be worth it to check out

Been there, done that.

I have an account with them, and hundreds others.

I used to test them on a very busy website I used to have.

I prefer Adsense. Better income, although the cheque-thing may be a schlep.

I've also tried AD Dynamo - they pay directly into your SA bank account but we're getting 20% of what we used to get on revenue.. Adsense has a bigger ad base so I think they just server more relevant ads to your content..

When I received my first Google cheque, I was with Nedbank. The first cheque took around 6 weeks to get cleared and paid into my account. However, all cheques after that was cleared immediately when I banked it. Luckilly nothing went wrong them them at the time.

On a low-hit website you are likely to generate nothing more than the one or two clicks a month.

Never think that Adsense will make you rich, because it won't.

I have about 77 websites, and in total they generate about R3 - 5000 per month.

I know that some of the bigger websites using adsense makes tens even hundreds of thousands of dollars a month, but their expenses in running their sites exceeds that.

Adsense should only be seen as a nice side-line income if you manage to pull of a website that generate income from it.

Yeah, at one point in time I had more than 300 of them. I sold off those not generating an income.

Its not about the maintenance. Its about making sites that don't require maintenance and operates on 'auto pilot'.

And, you are right, I also think I should earn more, but it is not that easy.
