Paypal and ZAR currency. So?

Ok so I was checking out a transaction and selected the Rand, but Paypal don't support it, and I remember people complaining about this. But why? Because upon checkout with the USD or EURO, it converted to the Rand then I can confirm the transaction.

Disadvantages of not supporting the Rand is?
