1) The Cheque card is compatable with paypal, right? the FNB staff are really clueless to paypal :(
2) Do I need to set up my FNB Site first, before being able to "activate" paypal? (I have the card & website account now, but my website account is not fully active on the fnb website yet, they need to call me first or something)

something else I want to know.....

In paypal, right, it says it will charge you $2,95 or something when activating your paypal account. that's fine, but now,
All you enter is the card number, and a number on the back - no PIN or nothing? :wtf:
can people/websites/etc charge my account without a PIN, just knowing the front and back number?

:) THANX A LOT! :)

1) Yep, works a dream.
2) Yep, you can have your account with paypal, but afaik you need to activate your internet banking fully before you can link them.

3) Yep, just like a credit card.
4) Afraid so, guard those with your life.

Hope this helps :)

u sure they can?
the old credit card of my mom which expired at the end of october this year had no chip so required no pin - shopping online with this was easy, number on the front + last 3 digits on the back
the new credit card from november this year has the chip and requires a pin - ive tried using it online by giving the number and the last 3 digiits but the transcations couldnt go thru - was actually wondering how we are supposed to shop online using the new card

well yeah, I have the new Chip + PIN Cheque Card - but it seems paypal just askes for the numbers, and no PIN?
I haven't finished the paypal verifying process completely yet though, because I thought I should wait for my fnb website account to be 100% functioning first.

I don't want my paypal account to be stuffed up if the transaction fails or something

For security paypal charges a small amount to your card but before you can use it you have to supply the 4 digit reference code that accompanied the initial charge.

They also refund that charge afterwards.

I have had my Paypal account going on 3yrs now. That initial charge is you talking about is $1.50. I used my Kulula Credit Card when making purchases via Paypal

I think one should just have a specific credit card w hen making tranactions online cause then u will be able to stop discrepancies much easier and it wont be a pain in the but just to stop a card that u ocasionally use.......also reduce the credit card limit and work on a pay as you go basis then that will also make it much harder for them to just take money........
