Paypal payment gatewat, how to test?

Right so ive set up a payment gateway on my site. Now I couldn't create a sandbox account to test it out due to a persistent error when trying to create one. Is there anyway to test out the gateway other than sandbox? People have said that you should set the price to 0.01$ or so and test it out. But how exactly do you test it if you cannot log into your main seller account to do this. Multiple accounts I assume. I only have one visa card....

Sandbox is your first choice, if like you said you can not get that to work, create a hidden product for 0.01c and find a friend, family member or willing forumite that has a PayPal account and get them to test for you. I would really try and get to the bottom of your Sandbox issue as any payment integration should be thoroughly tested and this is exactly what the Sandbox is for.
 
Well the gateway does work, however I need to test the callback url that is set to see if it's working 100%. I can create an account in paypal sandbox, but I can't add a pre-configured account. It keeps giving me some long error. Looks like server related issues or something similar.
 
Weird, you should've contacted PayPal about it already... but yea, sandbox is painless and easy to setup and test everything. I set it up over September or October, can't remember... but it was working less than 8 months ago
