Hi

I've been a paypal user for about 3 years now. I'm 18 years old. The account is registered to my debit card which is with Capitec. I've gotten a few payments on paypal that i was wondering if it isnt possible to bring them onto my bank account rather than keep them on paypal. The bank account would offer the money interest and i would be able to use it at much more online shops and real stores than those that accept paypal. I've done some research and found the "Withdraw funds from paypal" on their website. This unfortunately doesnt work for south africa as its US bank accounts only. Under that i see a re-link to "Withdraw funds with FNB". This then prompts you to create an account. I did so and attempted the withdrawal. FNB then told me that i do not have my paypal account linked to the FNB online account. Soon after, i called FNB Support who told me a few options that didnt work at all and many, many other confusing options. I'd just like to know if anyone knows how to do so or what one needs to do so. I'd appreciate it. Thanks

edit your post to say you 18 or a mod will ban hammer you :)
Re paypal and FNB, so many issues, you lose so much in conversions and exchange rates. The fact that you have a paypal account with funds is better, as soon as it get linked you will just have endless grief.

Thanks for tip Lived666
Anyone know whether or not any other South African bank is planning on allowing paypal funds to be withdrawn to their bank accounts?

Only FNB at the moment

Sadly FNB then. I hope another bank would go this direction and make a user-friendly way of making withdrawals between Paypal and their bank accounts. Maybe in the future more banks would do this if Paypal becomes used by more people. For now i guess i will have to keep my money in Paypal then.

Thanks everyone

Get an FNB account? no problems here, been using it for years. :)

I would. They're ad's look so inspiring and i keep hearing positive things about them from people. But for now until i am older i will stick with the bank that my parents are at, easier paid that way. No costs involved in transferring money between banks

I read in their T&Cs some time ago. They (FNB) take a small percentage when doing a transaction using PayPal.

A week ago converted 750$ to ZAR via PayPal and fnb got R8120 out they took r100 transaction fee fees not that bad
