Payshap... not always so instant :(

I've used Payshap a few times and it is normally instant but last night I did 2 Payshap payments from Capitec to FNB, around 11:30pm and it's now 5:30pm the following day and both are still showing as pending in my FNB account. They both showed up like that in the FNB account right after I made the payments.

Has anyone else had this problem with Payshap, if so any ideas when they will reflect?
FNB support via their in-app chat is useless, dealing with imbeciles

payshap seems like fnb's ewallet, i.e. transfer money to a cell phone ?

Easy way to transfer money by only using a phone number. Sucky thing is, Absa seems to not have my correct phone number and I can't change it...

Anyway, I believe some banks allow free payments up to R 100 per payment?

Yes free up till R100 and then it varies per bank, Absa is ridiculously expensive but Capitec only charges max R3 up till R3000 per transaction and max R5k per day

Strange, I've been doing payshap transaction between FNB and Nedbank (vice versa), no issues even on weekends, wonder if the time you did the transaction had anything to with the delay, you spoke to FNB already, any contact with Capitec? what did they say?

The system is designed to use your cell number just to make it easier, you have to register your number once off and from then on that’s all thats needed when people make payments to you.

Capitec said there’s no issue their side and the money has been deducted, the fact that it’s even showing on FNB side I’m assuming means it’s an FNB issue, they’ve received the payment but something is not working.
I’m assuming it’ll all reflect at midnight tonight, lesson learnt don’t rely on Payshap, rather use Capitec’s instant payment system, it’s only R7 an EFT and it’s always been instant.

Late to the party so might have been resolved by now, but have you linked the phone number to the account?

Yes it was linked and the payments showed up in my Fnb account instantly but they showed as pending and the funds weren’t showing under the available balance.

Banks not even marketing this hard, because it will take away from their revenue.

Payshap should be free. Will change the way people pay, especially lower income earners

I agree, 99% of the people I've run into so far haven't even heard of it.
