Hi There,

I am looking for great deals on PC's or custom build options. The Wife is tired of sharing, and i want to get her, her own desktop.

I will need everything from mouse to monitor, and i have around 4k to spend.

She does not game.

Do you need to add Windows to this, or do you already have a License? Adding windows to a build, takes the price up significantly.

I have an MSDN subscription, so i have a few more spare windows licenses.

I would prefer a new pc though. unless there is a great deal out there on a used one :)

the pc is only used for everyday stuff, browsing, email, solitaire, word/excell docs.

I was hoping for a new I3/I5 ...

Getting one new is going to be a bit hard for a tower as you still need to buy a Monitor as well. Maybe look at a Laptop for her then? You'll find one for R 4k new I'm sure.

Something like this maybe?

I would buy a refurbished machine with 6 month gauarantee from one of those places that sell old corporate machines

You buy the Lenovo ThinkCentre I linked to, buy a 19" monitor for around R1300, buy the mouse and keyboard combo of your choice and have cash to spare. The i3 in the Lenovo will be significantly faster than any Celeron notebook you will buy for more money.

Laptop is very convenient and versatile (especially with Loadshedding a reality).

the prob with the one listed (the I3) is that it is in DBN, and i am in JHB

You said you have around R4000, the Lenovo is R1900 + R200 for shipping = R2100 which leaves you R1900 for a monitor, keyboard and mouse. A 19" monitor can be had for around R1300 and you choose a mouse and keyboard, which will still leave you with money to spare.
