Hi everyone! I've been wanting a pc for awhile and found Wootware, which is amazing. I've been trying to do research myself but it's so complicated. Can someone tell me if this build works and is a generally good build? Or if there can be any minor upgrades or changes without major budget changes?

The games I mostly play is indie games but I'd like to be able to play baldurs gate 3, gacha games and horizon.(I don't play any online shooter type games). My budget I'd like to keep in the 20k's, the highest I can go is maybe 23k (monitor is seperate). Any help is GREATLY appreciated I just wanna buy it already

I would wait a bit longer for the release of the new Ryzen 9000 chips at the end of the month. That should push some of the other AM5 chips down in price and make a more future-proof system more affordable. AM4 is okay performance wise but it's essentially dead tech at this point and you shouldn't be building a new system around it.

Yeah, I agree with @zolly .

Rather get a 7000 series CPU and DDR5. Maybe even USB4.

Worth waiting a month or two for prices to drop. Ryzen 9000 is set to be unveiled end of this month.

Everytime someone wants to upgrade and the advice is to wait for prices to drop.....

Waiting (-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩___-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩). So there aren't any uhm AM5 chips that are decently priced ? The thing that's the problem is when I go for a higher CPU then I have to change the GPU as well and the price just goes higher and higher. I really don't know much about this. So nothing I can get that's good for 23k? Better to wait for the price to drop? ( ;∀;)

If you don't wanna wait then I made some edits to your list. From an AM4 to an AM5 system. Faster CPU, faster RAM, faster SSD, newer mobo. Also changed the cooler cause it's cheaper and then added a wifi dongle cause the mobo doesn't have onboard wifi.

Anyways, it's only R1000.- more.

I LOVE YOU (´༎ຶ ͜ʖ ༎ຶ `)♡ thank you so much!

I would change the following components

RX 7600 XT version, faster and better for R200 LESS - https://www.wootware.co.za/xfx-rade...6-128-bit-pcie-4-0-desktop-graphics-card.html

Power supply needs a bit of leeway - 600-650w is too tiny and in future if you upgrade you will need a better one, so go for the 750w for R300 more - https://www.wootware.co.za/super-fl...fully-modular-black-desktop-power-supply.html

PCIe 4.0 NVMe is waaay faster for a few extra bucks - https://www.wootware.co.za/teamgrou...e-4-0-x4-nvme-m-2-2280-solid-state-drive.html

Case - upgrade to this for R199 more: https://www.wootware.co.za/montech-...ered-glass-atx-mid-tower-desktop-chassis.html

Air Cooler is not good enough from my experience for the AM5 7600X. You need a big 360 liquid cooler - https://www.wootware.co.za/id-cooling-fx360-360mm-black-liquid-cpu-cooler.html

THANK YOU AS WELL! A little bit extra money for good upgrades!! Will do this! This is extremely helpful o(〃^▽^〃)o

Good call. Wasn't even looking at the GPU.

Wouldn't say that's necessary at all. I'm running a 3070 on a 560W power supply.

Yip. I switched it for a 4.0 that costs the same as the old selection but your choice is even faster and probably worth the couple hundred extra.

Lol that's way overkill, dude...

I'm running a 7800X3D and RTX 4070Ti on a Superflower 650W PSU, so you'll be just fine with those parts.

You also don't need an AIO on Ryzen 7000 series, air is just fine. I'm running a Deepcool AK620 and I have never had any temp issues. Just make sure you have sufficient case fans for good airflow.

The problem is tech is currently at a changeover phase. If you buy now for long term you need PCIe 5 for GPU and DDR5 on the mobo minimum.... and 8GB VRAM is going to be too low within a few years.

If you go for PCIe4 and DDR4..... you have to buy top of the line otherwise it's pointless if you lowball because as mentioned it's tech that's being phased out.

The major problem is how expensive everything has gotten. Whatever you do for the GPU you are going to spend about R10k and for the rest R20k.... so you have to choose one or the other... or goto carbonite and get something second hand which is what I would recommend with the mentioned budget. But keep in mind you will have to monitor daily for a month or so to get the right deal for you.

For 23k, an RX 6800 build is possible - that's about 40% more powerful than the 7600 XT at 1440p.

I'd go for something like this with some caveats -

1) The motherboard *probably* limits what CPU you can upgrade to in the future without some fiddling (power-limiting). The cheapest solid B650 motherboard I can find is a grand more dear and doesn't offer anything real today that the Asus above doesn't. That's something to bear in mind if you decide to drop a new CPU in 2-3 years from now - you'll be fine with another 6-8 core CPU *probably* but not a 12 core and up.
2) The GPU is long - choose a case you like but keep the GPU clearance in mind. The Fractal above works but an M-ATX case would be nice for the smaller footprint. There are some good-looking, neat ones out and about but there's no easy way to see GPU clearance without visiting each case's product page.

Here is my rule of thumb regarding CPU's.... stay away from the top end TDP, get one just below that can be easily cooled with a proper air cooler.... AIO's fail too easily and you won't necesarily know if it does. Worst case you need to replace a fan or two.

Also for NVME as many know it's mostly pointless to get the fastest one's unless you run heavy workloads on them. If you run something like ReviOS on Windows or goto Linux you can just as easily run the OS on a regular sata SSD anyway which will save money.

Keep in mind for cheaper PSU's you need to give them a few hundred watt leeway because they loose optimal capacity quicker. On the other hand it's always better to have too much just in case anyway for unforseen spikes.

Yes, the sustained read \ write and IOPS numbers get bigger and bigger each gen but real world performance doesn't change appreciably. Unless the user is an archivist or content creator moving big files around daily, that 7000mb/s read speed is pointless.

There's a reason there isn't much difference in price between PCIE3 drives and PCIE4...

Until games actually start using direct storage as some kind of requirement.... I really don't see high speed NVME becoming a general thing.... just too expensive and atm too easily makes the showoff brands fail. It's the nerd equivalent of drag racing with honda civics or something.

The main benifits of NVME atm is they are rated to last longer than regular SSD which oddly no one ever mentions and their smaller size..... I just wish they slid in easier. When I installed mine I nearly had a heart attack because of how violently it popped in but probably modern mobo's are better designed.

Hello! I appreciate everyone's replies alot! Even though as much as I tried, I didn't understand... Most of them (-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩___-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩). I really appreciate all the help! So from what I've gathered. I have this build recommended

(Although a new case was recommended but (´༎ຶ ͜ʖ ༎ຶ `)♡ is the case i have selected bad? It's my favorite out of all of them, the subtle blue color is so pretty)

And then this build.

So these both seem like finalized builds -

(the case, since I've been getting recommended other ones I'm not sure yet (nooo don't tell me this case won't work( ཀ ʖ̯ ཀ))

Are they both on the same level or is the more expensive one the better bet? Again really appreciate all the help!

The Deepcool case will work fine with either set of components.

Wootware or any other decent retailer will assist when you're ready to pull the trigger - they will advise if there is something that's going to be a problem.

Will you be asking them to build it for you?

Between those 2 builds, I would go with the RX 6800 build
The RX 6800 it is a lot faster than the 7600XT
