Hi there,

I'm currently purchasing a new system but would obviously like some input on it please.
I've got a budget of R11 000 - R13 000.
Here are the components that I have selected:

CASE Cooler Master HAF 932, Full Tower, Black
CPU Intel Core i7-2700K, 3.5GHz, LGA1155
MBOARD GIGABYTE Z68XP-UD3
RAM Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C8 8GB DDR3 CL9 1600MHZ
PSU Corsair HX1050, 1050W
CPU Cool Cooler Master V6 GT
HDD Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB

The items ive selected will cost me just under R11 000.
I am also aware that I have no GPU selected right now, but I have decided to wait for the new 600 series Nvidia cards.

Any feedback is appreciated.
Thanks for the help.

PSU is so overkill. knock it down to a high efficiency 750W. The new GPU's sip power.

If you're going to spend that much on your PC, you might want to go for a Z77 chipset motherboard too. The Lucid Virtu MVP stuff really looks promising so far.

Even for the GTX 680, you won't need more than a Corsair TX750 v2.

For a pure gaming machine, an i5 2500k would suffice.

Otherwise your specs are looking great!

+1 on the above.
If you want an i7, get the 2600k.
Either way, get some water cooling. The H60 should suffice, but the H100 will be /drool/.

Thanks for the replies, it really is appreciated
I have decided to drop the PSU and go for a TX850(I'll most likely SLI the 680) along with the H60 cooling system(cant seem to find a supplier that has the H100 in stock)
By doing that I have saved a bit of cash and I'm wondering if I should wait for the Ivy Bridge instead? that releases on the 29April if I remember right, and go for the i7 3770K or will that be ridiculously priced?
I shall only purchase everything at the end of April anyway

Just to confirm is your budget R11 000 - R13000 for all your components including your GPU or excluding your GPU?

ok so I have been doing alot of research and I have decided to wait for Ivy Bridge to come out instead of going for the 3930K that Duff suggested to me and the reason is so that I can save the cash from this and put it into a really sweet GPU (MSI N580GTX Lightning maybe)

I just wanted to ask if anyone has any experience in installing the Corsair H100 into the Coolermaster CM Storm Trooper http://www.cmstorm.com/en/products/chassis/Trooper/

Yeah wait a bit for Ivy Bridge, should be here in about 2 weeks time or so.

If the PC is mostly used for gaming then rather get a i5 k series CPU and save some bucks.

Very Sexy case, I was able to find the following:

Right heat sinks, it will gobble everything thanks to the 140mm rear exhaust fan giving the case some extra girth but this wouldn't be one of my reviews if I did not mention water cooling... Its got 2 grommets at the top of the back panel should you wish to use some kind of external solution. The top of the case has support for 2x 120mm and 2x 140mm fans, both of these will support radiators up to 60mm thickness if you install the fans on the outside of the case (underneath the top panel). Going on from this it also means you would be able to fit a Corsair H100 in a push pull config, radiator and one set of fans inside then the second set on the outside underneath the top panel. The top panel may take some time to remove as the handle is integrated but it can be done should you have the time and patience to do it.

For all the in and outs on the CM Trooper this will help greatly: http://www.overclock.net/t/1104349/the-official-cooler-master-storm-trooper-club.

Great thanks, that has made my confidence of using those two particular components rise :D
This is what I have come up with for my final decision regarding my build:

Chassis: Coolermaster CM Storm Trooper
CPU: i7 3770k
Mboard: Gigabyte Z77X-UD3
RAM: Corsair Vengenance 8GB
PSU: Corsair TX850M
CPU Cooling: Corsair H100
SSD: Corsair Force GT 120GB (already owned)
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 3TB (already owned)
GPU: Asus6850 (already owned)

Thoughts ?

Also another question
Does anyone know of a place here in SA where I can purchase:
Sleeving Kits - looking for green or red if possible
Cold Cathode Tubes - looking for green

On the sleeving front - if you dont mind seeing the wires afterwards through the mesh, then SA sourced sleeving is fine

Ok so I did some further reading and found out that there are alot of people that replace the stock standard fans that come with the H100 with ones that run at higher speeds & are less noisy
Has anyone had a big problem with the noise levels of the H100 and has anyone replaced the fans ?
Im also guessing that to replace them its quite simple, just remove screws and replace lol ?

Replacing the fans for the H100 is as simple as replacing a normal case fan. Exactly the same thing, actually.
I have the H60 and at maximum, it's still fine. The H100 is noisier, but you shouldn't have ample reason to ever make it churn out at max for extended periods - the cooling it provides is quite exemplary.

Just one more question regarding the build before I place the order when IB releases

I want to install sleeved cables and have found a supplier that sells pre-sleeved cables (thanks Archer!)
However I'm terrible with cables and I have no idea how many I will need
This is my guess so if someone could tell me if I am right or if I am missing some it would be greaatly appreciated ;)
Motherboard power - 24pin ? http://www.landmarkpc.co.za/store/nzxt-motherboard-extension-cable-p-6728.html
CPU cable - 8Pin ? http://www.landmarkpc.co.za/store/bitfenix-8pin-pcie-power-extension-45cm-white-p-8061.html
GPU cable x2 - 6Pin ? http://www.landmarkpc.co.za/store/nzxt-single-sleeved-6pin-pcie-pcie-cable-p-8040.html
SATA cables x6 - http://www.landmarkpc.co.za/store/nzxt-molex-sata-cable-p-6729.html

Is there anything else I have missed ?

Not that I can see. Good luck with the build :)
