PC can't see Micro SD

I need some help please. I have an android tablet and am trying to load files from my pc to my microsd card.
pc picks up a removable drive but it is the internal memory of the tablet not the microsd.
I can explore the files from the micro sd fine on the tablet but not on the pc? why?

I don't know anything about the android tablet specifically, but does it have a setting (similar to ipods and such) that allows you to use it as a drive? Once enabled, the PC should pick it up as the tablet will allow it to be read.
Was the Micro-SD Card formatted by the tablet? If so, does it use a proprietary format other than FAT32 or NTFS?

EDIT: forgot to ask, what make, type and capacity is the SD card? Is it SDHC?

2nd EDIT: see here for some info - post 14 & 15 - apparently can't be done via USB connection, must be done via a Micro-SD Card Adapter, then connected to the PC...
