rectron... eish... watch out for their CD/DVD recorders - always issues.
The Lite-On's arent bad, AFAIK Sony's are basicaly just rebranded Lite-On's and Sony's arent known to have many problems.

The AOpens on the other hand die like flies, although you sometimes get a few good batches

/me would like to point out that it's MECER's CD/DVD's that are up to sheet, not Rectron's.
The Mecer's are probably just rebranded AOpen's, cos the AOpens are quite 'sheet' aswell

EDIT: and some of the Mecer drives i'v seen look EXACTLY like AOpen ones... just without the AOpen Logo :p

you only use who?

i only use rectron

and azix for laptops

I use Rectron for almost all stuff, Sahara for things out of stock at Rectron or specific items, and Pinnacle for D-Link kit.

A-Open... ouch, had so many problems with their optical devices.

Other Suppliers Include:

Duxbury
Sonic Informed
Genex Solutions
Scroop Distrobuters

But you'll find alot of suppliers just buy most of thier stock in bulk from Rectron and other large Distributors, then resell at similar prices.

Person, I haven't heard of 80% of the places you've mentioned.

Are you sure those are local suppliers?

Btw, another supplier is www.core.co.za (Apple Products)

Erm... PC components....

Otherwise we could list:

Digicape
Mac Global
Apple Centre
Samra
www.zastore.co.za
etc. etc. etc.

:D
