Hi,

I am having a strange problem where my PC clock is reset(and even the bios, from the looks of the startup screens) when my computer is switched off and receiving no power. However, if I leave the power switch on and the computer is off, when I startup the computer, everything is fine. Anyone have any ideas on what could be the problem?? I was thinking the battery ... but not so sure!!!

Can also be faulty Bios chip but less likely. When it's plugged in there is low current to the mainboard keeping the clock ticking and the bios sorted. Battery and faulty chip (or even faulty mb) can do it, but battery is the most likely...
Didn't contradict now lol

Set yourself a NTP server and let it get the time/date from there.
