Having said that, CMOS has now frozen as well so i have had to reboot... Back into CMOS temp up to 45. Fan speed 2500rpm.

Hope the psu quality improved since the linked review was done, Huntkey does not come near my equipment bit paranoid that the components would run off screaming.
700W Huntkey PSU purhased from computermania for R699 which i thought was not too bad.
Will test it tonight when i am home. I guess if this does not help, it must be the mobo?![]()
Complete overkill for your rig, and Huntkey have a very bad rep. Could've gotten away with a branded Corsair CX430 for R450 and 3yr warranty.
Just saying. Good luck with finding the problem.
Captain hindsight. Welcome!
How have you been, man? Long time. I have been out of the loop. A lot. At least the 700 should handle my planned year-end upgrade. Unless it explodes...
Good thanks, and you man? Long time indeed. Been holding the fort in your absence!
Yeah you'll probably be OK, and a 700watt will be best for a beefy upgrade, like R4000+ graphics card...Corsair's just a safe bet, guaranteed quality.
Good work with the fort-holding.
Work is busy busy. Hence no myadsl time. Which sucks.
R4000 gfx would be wasted on me. Still no gaming. Might add another screen at some stage but probably not necessary and not easy to source a T260 these days.
And i need my machine to actually boot before all thatbladdy thing had better work tonight!
Try taking out the RAM and putting only 1 stick back and then booting. Faulty RAM sometime causes this CMOS checksum error.Ya. Same thing. Could not detect any hdds.
CMOS battery need replacing perhaps? Or even just reseating?

Good stuff. Holding thumbs. Let us know.
U got any more ideas? Total overhaul is not an option for at least a few months. And i dont really wanna try to source a 2nd hand similar mobo...unless they are lank cheap?
Hard to say without swapping out components. I'm guessing mobo has gone.
You can still get AMD AM2/AM2+ mobos at Esquire IIRC (for quite a lot less than your fancy 700watt PSU might I add). Maybe someone with an account can help you get one. You would just need to test compatibility with your CPU.
For less than R1000 you can get a new DDR2 motherboard (the cheapest only have 2 RAM slots, bear in mind) and CPU, whether it be AMD or Intel, which will outperform your current CPU tenfold. You could keep your existing RAM. That would be my advice. Or second-hand for like R600 for an entry-level mobo and dual core CPU.
New mobo/CPU pretty much guarantees your PC will work.
