Hey guys,

Here's the back of a small fan I want to use:

I'm not sure but is it possible to use it and plug it directly into a power source eg a wall plug? I've heard you need a voltage converter or something?

Yes, You must get a 220v converter to 12 volts then it should work. Don't plug it directly in 220 socket thou you will fry it.

In this instance you need a 220v converter to provide 0.3Amps at 3.6Watt 12V DC

Where do I find a Voltage converter? @psywolf - I'm not really keeping up with what you mean? IS there a particular converter I can get?

The other thing is can I just wire it up to the converter?

Any converter for 12volt *should* do,like these

Chop the end off the charger, you'll have a + and - wire to connect to the fan

If you are going to use it in your PC, you could always just use your PC power supply, as it already provides 12V. Just connect the fan to a yellow (+12V) and black (GND) cables of a 4-pin peripheral power cable coming from the PS.

What you using the fan for?

Useful things... :p

You can also run them off an old PC power supply. It just needs to be jump started by sticking a opened paper clip into the green and a black connector on the motherboard 20/24-pin connector.
