I was following AMD VS Intel thread, pros, cons but at the end I'm still unsure what to buy.

Basically I use my PC mainly for c\c++ development and bit of photo processing.

SSD for starters, maybe video card around R1000, 8GB (or more) RAM, but I have no idea what MB or processor to buy.
PC should last me at least 2-3 years.

What is decent and as you would say good bang for the buck?
What would you recommend?

Almost forgot budget up to R10K (I have good case but PSU will have to be replaced)

An AMD APU (like the A10-7850k) and a medium end ATi card (HD 6970 - seriously the amount of power this thing has for its price is ridiculous, will also work in tandem with APU; can also use mantle for SDKs and APIs that support it). Ludicrous amount of power for what the bits cost.

As far as mobo and GPU make: Only ASUS or MSI. Nothing else will do.

:)

What development? Just coding? If so you don't even need a graphics card. Get a nice apu like the guy above me recommended. Unless you want to game as well.

One could probably spend less on graphics and more on cpu, just let me know if you game or not.

WOW, thanks guys!! I will go and check all the link.

Regarding gaming, maybe some simple games like sims but nothing serious, kids have ps3 for that.

Budget is rather soft, bit money up is not a problem.

Again thanks guys for help!!
