PC gamers are stingy bastards

Please sir, would you mind posting the article here?

The latest NDP Group survey of US PC gamers has revealed that half of all the Master Race wait for a game to go on special before buying it.

The Understanding PC Gaming 2014 report was based on a survey of 6,225 US citizens aged 9 years and older. Besides waiting for a discount, 46 percent of PC gamers said they buy their titles digitally.

“Consumers’ expectations may be the greatest barrier to maximizing spending in the PC gaming space,” NPD analyst Liam Callahan said. “Since half of PC gamers who play digital and/or physical games on the computer are expecting there to always be a sale right around the corner, publishers and retailers alike need to better manage these expectations.”

While Steam sales and Humble Bundles may be beneficial for gamers and make the pastime more affordable, the report remarked that the discounted prices may be stifling revenue and growth in the industry.

The report also revealed some stats about the average US PC gamer.

According to the findings, 37% of respondents called themselves PC gamers. These gamers played for an average of 6.4 hours a week.

Broken down into gender, the split was nearly even with 51%/49% in favour of men.

The average PC gamer in the US is 38-years-old with an average household income of $69,000 (±R755,000) per year.

So, PC gamers, are you guys always waiting for the next special? Let us know in the comments and forum.

There you go.

Bollocks. I always share all of my drops from D3 when in a public game, and level up other members who are new. It's the Console-less bastids that are stingy ****ers! :D

leave me alone :( i was to slow

Wait 6 months and pay half the price.... has been like that for long as I can remember. Added bonus: after 6 months most of the bugs have been patched.

That's like saying wait for the latest iPhone. It will never work. Gamers want to be ahead - and have the highest score. How will they do that 6 months behind?

I normally download the full length *ahem* demo version. Which is always playable offline, and doesn't require updates

I will buy games if I intend to play multiplayer. Looking at getting The Crew and possibly FarCry 4.

You are the scum of the earth. You are the reason publishers are forced to tack on multiplayer in single player games.

Thank you for single handedly ruining PC gaming as a whole.

I hope you die in a fire.

Slowly.

For once I agree with you.

Just, wow. You guys are really edgy. Single handedly, really?

So sorry I actually want to try out a game before buying it. Demo's aren't as readily available as in the past. I don't believe in wasting money buying games for which I've only seen trailers on YouTube. I've been disappointed too often. I'm sure many forum members will agree with me.

I buy games on a regular basis, at BT Games, Steam etc. I believe in supporting the developers who deserve it.

That being said, I apologize for my lighthearted post earlier.
