PC gamers love Windows 7

Makes sense, Windows 10 is a complete ballzup on multiple fronts.
 
Nah, Windows 7 was just a passage of time. In my books, Windows 98SE was their jewel. It was fast (for the time) and worked with almost all hardware. Windows 10 is shaping up to be a brilliant OS too.
 
Windows 10 is only gaining because of the free giveaway and because it's installed on so many new devices.
It's also needed because of new hardware.

If it wasn't for those reasons, Win7 would still be the most popular.

I think Windows 10 users have learned to put up with the crap, and have probably forgotten how much easier things were with Win7.

I agree. I have no issues with Windows 10. Even the start menu isn't an issue for me, as I can hardly complain when it took all of 5 minutes to install Start10 and bring back the Windows 7 style menu.

I actually prefer the WIn10 Start Menu tbh...
 
It's the unstable Win10 updates that annoy me the most. Had BSOD on my home and work machine (twice). All of them catastrophic and required a re-install. Win7 was far more stable.

Well, then I must have learned pretty damn well. Working on a Win7 machine just annoys me. It really shows it's age when you've used a more modern OS for a while.
Dissing win 8 I can understand, but 10 is just so much better than all that came before it.
 
That table cannot be read in isolation without also looking at the language statistics which is just a bit further in the data. From there you will see that the leading language is Simplified Chinese at 64.35%. Then you need to also understand that the only way to get a legal "free" copy of windows 10 in China is through the government controlled Baidu (China's version of Google).

In addition Windows 10 with all its snoopware would simply break in China as it cannot get through the "great firewall of China".

Windows 10 threatens to mirror the PS3 Linux debacle where the firmware update removed the feature. If Microsoft's update policy can select to undo the operating system features and break what you paid for (or updated to for free) you would only want to embark on Windows 10 when you feel it is safe to do so.
